Earning a graduate's degree online allows you to still work full time as you learn!
An education graduate degree is also known as an education postgraduate or quaternary degree. It involves the study in the area of education, educational methods, and psychology. There are varied levels awarded at each different level of study.
The first education graduate degree is a bachelor. In some countries the study time for this can be as high as 5 years, in others less. Graduates get a more generalized over view of the education system, teaching and related topics. However, the main focus is on the logic behind education.
The second education graduate degree is a masters. In most countries it can take up to 7 years extra study to achieve this. Students learn more about more specialized methods of teaching, learning and psychology, but they are able to also specialize in the subject areas that they will eventually teach.
The third education graduate degree is a doctorate. As with any doctorate, graduates do further specialization in the subjects they wish to teach and learn about the administrative, policy making and business side of education. Each one is awarded based on either research or academic achievement in an area of education that will extend the human knowledge base in this area.
An education graduate degree can lead to varied useful opportunities for further study or allow graduates to finally work as professionals in the education system in their country. Graduates with bachelor degrees are able in some places to teach primary/elementary and secondary education. Those with doctorates can also teach in the public or private schools systems, but may also stay at university and teach. In this case they will become either a lecturer or professor. Those achieving a masters can do everything the previous ones can, but they are able to move into more responsible policy making and administrative roles, whether within the education system or government.
