Flashcards are a simple and easy tool that can help with English learning. Purchase index cards at the local office supply store or purchase them online. Creating your own flashcards is a great way to start. This provides you with the most common words you will use instead of purchasing pre-made cards that often will include words that are too complex. As a teacher you can place these index cards around the classroom. Attach the "desk" card to the student’s desk, the "book" card to a book and so on. Eventually students can take a stack of cards and place them with the correct item. Invent card games with flashcards. Once the students have a good grasp on the words used on the flashcards, place them on the wrong items and let the students fix them. This is great learning game and the students will have fun while they enjoy English learning.
Spelling games will also encourage English Learning. Simple crossword puzzles with pictures of a dog, cat, car and other common short words can be used to begin with. Learning English does not have to be difficult or expensive. Play some learning games with your young students and watch them succeed!
