Learning Management

The term learning management can be defined as the ability to devise educational and academic strategies in order to achieve the desired results in students and learners. Learning management is not implemented in traditional classrooms, but rather in virtual online environment. It is executed with the aid of LMS or Learning Management System. LMS is a software which when aided with the internet becomes an effective tool useful for planning, implementing and assessing a particular learning process. 

Factors like an online learning environment, effective and functional tools such as blogs, content management systems, networking and virtual spaces are essential criteria for practicing learning management efficiently. This is necessary so that the user can interact and take advantage of LMS. Practical knowledge is far more effectual than formal theory. The LMS has replaced the traditional and outdated approach to learning because learning from community networks is far easier, valuable and successful.

LMS, an integral and crucial element of learning management caters to different needs and requirements of education, administration and employment. LMSs differ in their learning content depending on the field specifications and category of students it has been designed for. The market is flooded with LMS applications, both commercial as well as open sources. Commercial packages incorporate solutions not only for corporates but for academics also. LMS vendors are spread over a broad range and include the likes of training outsourcing firms, consulting firms and enterprise resource vendors.

For a LMS to be self-sufficient, it needs to fulfill all the aspects of learning. Besides being rich in learning content, it should also provide tools for interaction. Appropriate implementation of the learning tasks and availability of various functional tools will ensure execution of the concept of learning management in the right sense. Learning management employs a highly structured approach in order to perform the administrative tasks of learning and achieve the desired results in different fields of academics and business.

Above all, a virtual learning environment is critical for learning management. Any learning environment is expected to provide a platform for learner expression, student-instructor interaction and interaction with other pupils from the same field. LMSs feature characteristics such as blogs, chat rooms, discussion forums, VoIP and emails which makes it easier to implement learning management. In short, learning management has opened numerous doorways and is the future of successful learning.
