Learning Styles Test
A Learning Styles Test is an easy way to discover how you learn. There are, in general, three basic types of learning styles that can be used to categorize how individuals learn. These three common learning styles are the visual style, the auditory style, and the kinesthetic style.
As a general rule, when we learn, we depend on one or more of our senses to process the information we gather from the world around us. Most people are inclined to use any one of their five senses more predominantly than the others, to process this information and convert it into retained learning.
A learning styles test is a short test, which can be an excellent way for any individual to learn some basic things about themselves and the way that they best absorb information, and how to do it more quickly and efficiently. This knowledge can be an extremely helpful tool and can be uses in the future, to enable faster and better learning. Sometimes people can have two or more types of learning styles, and it is not unusual for individuals to use different learning styles for different kinds of tasks.
The learning styles test is generally a series of 16 simple questions related to the three basic learning styles. The user has to simply read the question and then select the answer that fits your own answer the most closely. The key factor is to be quick. One should not think about the questions too much. The first, instinctive choice is the one that should be the selected choice. After one has answered each question, one simply clicks on the submit button at the end of the page. As long as you are online, the computer will easily evaluate your results and display the answer you selected. At the end of the test, the computer will show you your primary learning style.
The results are generally displayed and categorized into four different areas:
- Active and reflective learners ( act / ref )
- Sensing and intuitive learner ( sen / int )
- Visual and verbal learners ( vis / vrb )
- Sequential and global learners ( seq / glo )
Your personalized learning style report contains a detailed personalized assessment of your abilities and dependence on all the three learning styles: visual, auditory and kinesthetic or tactile.
