Art Lesson Plans
Kids love art. No matter what age, they love to get messy and experiment with making all sorts of art work. Finger paints, noodle art and collages all top favorites when it comes to teaching preschoolers art. If you are looking for some fun art lesson plans for your preschool class, here are some suggestions that will keep them busy.
Teach to their Level:
When you make your art lesson plans, the first thing you will want to do is to make sure you find projects that are on their learning level. Preschoolers are still developing and while some may have good fine motor skills, others will not. When you find art projects that they can complete on their own, you will find that they stay more interested in the activity. If you teach above their level, then many times they will not complete the project or they will become frustrated.
Collages: Collages are great fun at this age and they do not have to be complicated. When you make your art lesson plans, make sure you include this project. Give each child a large piece of construction paper and glue. Then provide the class with a wide assortment of materials for gluing. Look for fabric scraps, lace, ribbon, cotton balls, buttons and small shells. The kids will love making their own unique work of art.
Finger Paints: You cannot teach preschool without adding finger paints to your art lesson plans! Kids love finger paints, but look beyond traditional paints. How about finger painting in pudding or shaving cream? You can even put paint in gallon size zip bags and let them finger paint the clean way.
Noodle Art: Of course art lesson plans for preschoolers would not be complete without noodle art. Kids love gluing, painting and even using noodles for beads.
