College Education

Getting a college education is one of the most important things that any individual can do.  Aside from the obvious fact that a college education can intellectually prepare people for their future careers, there are tons of non academic benefits that people can get from a college education experience. 

One of the biggest things a student can learn while getting a college education is to budget money.  Finances are usually not a main concern for high school students, but once these young adults enter college, they have to become much more aware of their financial situations.  They now have to go grocery shopping, buy books, and save some money for entertainment.  This can be very challenging, but once someone is stuck on a back road without any gas in their car, they will realize the importance of budgeting money correctly. 

Another valuable lesson that people learn while getting a college education is how to handle day to day road blocks such as paying parking tickets, getting someone to fix your broke refrigerator, or learning that cars need to be inspected by professionals. 

These are all common sense things that many people do not realize when they are living a sheltered high school student’s life, but when they go to get their college education, they often learn much more about dealing with life’s reality. 

Still another thing that people learn when they are off getting their college education is more about who they truly want to be.  In high school, many people are trying to fit into a certain click and push aside their actual hobbies and beliefs in order to fit it with a certain group.  When people go to get their college education, they often also meet many interesting people whom have the same hobbies as they do and they can be who they truly want to be.
