Early Childhood Education

When choosing a major in college, one of the most popular choices is a degree in early childhood education.  Early Childhood Education is a great major for people who enjoy children and love to watch kids learn. There are many great things about early childhood education that make it a great major to want to choose.

This first benefit of choosing early childhood education as a major is that for one whole semester you get to be in a classroom teaching, instead of spending another dreaded week in the classroom listening to some boring teacher.  Another benefit of majoring in early childhood education is that once you graduate, you do not have to work in the summer.  This is one of the biggest perks to the profession because you can use your summers for hobbies, volunteering, or spending time with your family.  Many people who do not major in early childhood education wish that they got to take summers off every year. 

Still another benefit to majoring in early childhood education is that you really do get to see the progress that the students make because of you.  You are often the one to teach students to read, write, and spell.  These are clear indicators of the success accomplished from the work that you have done.

Another benefit to majoring in early childhood education is that no day is alike.  Each day offers different activities in small segments that appeal to children's limited attention spans.  Some days you will be teaching students about colors, while the next day you might be dealing with an emotional issue that is plaguing one of your students due to problems at home.  Clearly there are tons of reasons why early childhood education is a great major for many people who wish to do good in their community and hope to build a better tomorrow.
