The English Language
English is increasingly widely used all over the world as the language of science, business, and diplomacy.   Since the British Empire began colonizing countries from Australia to India, English has become at least a second language for a growing number of people.  Following the World War II, the increasing economic and cultural influence of the United States has considerably increased the reach of the language.

The Department of Education approximates that 2.4 million children, who largely includes Hispanic children, have limited ability in English.  Some suggest that the children be taught in their native language, however, instead of bilingual education, it is recommended by others that English instruction holds the least risk and usually the maximum benefit for limited-English-proficient children and adults.

Ways to English Lessons
There are various ways to participate in learning to speak English other than learning English in a school setting.  Parents and their children can even get involved in English Lessons via an Internet Course or they can buy or rent videos from their local libraries.  These videos teach step by step English Lessons on how to speak English as a second language. 

English is the most popular language spoken all over the world and because of this, it is very important for non-speaking adults and children to become involved in learning English as a second language  so that they will not be at a disadvantage but at an advantage.

Understanding Your English Goals
There are many ways for non-speaking English parents and their children to participate in taking English Lessons.  People decide to involve themselves and their children in English Lessons for many reasons.

People frequently think that there is only one way to learn how to speak English and that the same identical values are important for everyone.  However, depending on a person’s English goal and in order to become successful in taking English Lessons, it is vital that the learner understand his reasons for taking English lessons.  Understanding his reasons will help him to strategize his English Lesson plan better. 

Some people choose to take English Lessons because they desire to learn English for Career Purposes. Some take lessons because they are a Global English Learner.  Some seek to learn English because they are a Learner who desires to live in or already lives in an English Speaking Culture and in order to function well in the new culture, it would be wise to learn the English language.  Of course, some people take English Lessons just for fun and pleasure.  Whatever the reason is for taking English Lessons, understanding the reasons for taking lessons will also help a person to commit to his or her English Lessons resulting in a successful second language learning endeavor.
