The Famous GED – Getting Your High School Diploma

The GED, otherwise known as the General Educational Development diploma, is the most popular and famous of the high school diploma equivalencies. The GED is popular because it is available around the world. The GED is wildly popular and widely accepted. The General Educational Development is said to be accepted by roughly 95 percent of all colleges, universities, employers and other institutions of higher learning throughout the United States. But what exactly is the GED? The GED is a diploma that acts as an equivalency to a traditional high school diploma.

How Do You Get the GED?

A person earns the GED when they successfully complete tests, which may include science, social studies, writing, the arts, literature analysis and math. The GED is taken at testing centers and community centers around the world. There is a nominal fee in order to take the test and receive certification.

Other Ways to Get Your High School Diploma

One of these options is the so-called External High School diploma, which employs a sequential series of workbooks to prepare adults for a variety of work and social scenarios. Another important option is the High School Equivalency Program. This is a good program for migrant families in need of translation help. Another diploma that can be conferred once high school is officially over is the High School Equivalency Diploma. This program is only offered in the state of Michigan.
