If you want to get hands-on experience with all the latest computer technology then an information technology degree is right for you. With an information technology degree you can enter the workforce as a database administrator, computer analyst or a software programmer.

If you work for a company and have an information technology degree you are responsible for data maintenance and recovery. As a graduate student you will also be responsible for writing equipment proposals that define the purchase needs of your business. Once you graduate with you degree you will have the skills necessary to propel your company past the technological advances. How well you communicate the technological needs of your organization will determine your success. If you are hired as a department coordinator it will be your responsibility to keep everyone under you current in the latest technologies.
